#amwriting #amediting the muck should hopefully raise a rose

The problem with developing a plot and writing it, is that writing is not as an Agent would tell you – something is preplanned before you write – ideas are but it is one reason was we write raw – edit the raw – and eventually make a first draft and you know as an Author when you are prepared to admit that you have something to really start work on.

If I was writing a technical or business document and I have done, many times, then I know, in the main, the structure and details before I start.

The problem with Alisia and her forced to leave King Martan was that I originally planned it to be simple … then I realised that the plan didn’t really hang together; I needed to put the maps together for a start, which meant drawing them – fairly badly but then Alisia and the troops’ betrayal reared its ugly head; a concubine trying to control a King by having a child from a King who never wanted a child from her; his machinations; the capture of Sir Charles’ Spy Master without his knowledge; that Sir Charles holds the dagger that marks him as the true King of Toshonia and then the hunt is on.

I just deleted the 3000 words – most of it was fill in and developing a plot I couldn’t use anymore.

It hurt, but the book will hopefully be a lot clearer and the muck should hopefully raise a rose.
